So we finally did it...we were "that" family you see in the airport with a baby, hoping that we're not on your flight!! Goodness, where do I begin. It has been awhile since Brian and I have been back East to visit my family, and most of my family members have not met Ashley yet...so we planned it. Turns out my grandmother's health (Mommom Young) took a turn for the worst and passed away a few days before our visit. Thankfully, we made it to the funeral and were able to say our goodbyes. I just wish she could have met Ashley. I know even without meeting her, Mommom loved Ashley with all her heart, but getting a picture of them together would have been...well, priceless.
I must be grateful for the time we had out there. It was really neat to see most of my side of the family meet Ashley for the first time. I always thought the older I got, and the more time I was away, things would get "easier" but that couldn't be further from the truth. I guess age (maybe maturity) makes you realize how important family is, and to have them close is an amazing gift.
Until next time...

Life is but a stopping place, A pause in what's to be, A resting place along the road, to sweet eternity. We all have different journeys, Different paths along the way, We all were meant to learn some things, but never meant to stay...Our destination is a place, Far greater than we know. For some the journey's quicker, For some the journey's slow. And when the journey finally ends, We'll claim a great reward, And find an everlasting peace, Together with the LordAuthor unknown

So sorry about your grandmother. Glad you had the family time. Sorry I have not mailed the book you won in Jan! I saw it on the bottom of my reading stack yesterday. Please send me your address again, I will mail it. I am becoming more organized again, as opposed to putting 1 foot in front of the other.
Beautiful pics you posted.
Love, Annette

I'm sure that she is watching her great granddaughter right now.
